THE POWER OF THE POWDERS
Pacific Foods' new soy powders offer nutritional boost

(Tualatin, Ore. - March 31, 2000) To meet high consumer demand in the swelling soyfoods' industry, Pacific Foods of Oregon has added three new nutritional powder blends to its power lineup of all-natural products.

Soy Synergy (TM), offered in plain or vanilla, and Calcium Synergy(TM) are Pacific Foods' first ventures into the nutraceutical market. The power powders are jam-packed with ingredients such as soy isoflavones, which have been studied for their valuable role of inhibiting calcium loss and the breakdown of bone mass. They confront two major health concerns: healthy hearts and bones.

The new Synergy(TM) products are 100 percent natural, easily digestible, gluten free, lactose free, cholesterol free, fat free, low in sodium, contain no refined sugars and no genetically modified organisms.

"Our taste tests show that they are also the best tasting," noted Ron Martell, Vice President of Marketing at Pacific Foods. "We're very excited about the expansion of our product line into the nutraceutical world. Soy Synergy(TM) and Calcium Synergy(TM) are just a start in the line of new products we'd like to develop."

A pioneer in natural foods, Pacific Foods is a leading manufacturer of non-dairy nutritional products. Its great-tasting natural foods and beverages include such products as Soymilk, Rice, Oat, Multi-Grain and Almond Drinks; Naturally Complete-Liquid Nutrition Drinks; and Soups, Sauces and Broths in aseptic packaging.

Privately owned and operated since 1987, Pacific Foods of Oregon continues to set the industry standard for superior quality, convenient packaging and "Certified to the Source" pure ingredients. Pacific Foods' products are distributed nationally and are available in natural foods stores and in the health foods section of select supermarkets.
