Reata Restaurant Hospitality at Concours on Rodeo 2000

CHANGES
AT PATINA RESTAURANT -- Chef Joachim Splichal's renowned dining venue
at 5955 Melrose Avenue has been renovated and improved (if that is possible)
and reopened at the end of July. Changes included expansion of the kitchen from
200 to 1,000 square feet, and includes a special chef's table for small dining parties.
REGAL BILTMORE VENUE FOR LA PRESS CLUB JOURNALISM AWARDS -- It was a full house
at the Biltmore Bowl in Downtown Los Angeles, where Producer/Director Warren
Beatty presented Bill Rosendahl, journalist and VP of communications
for Adelphia Communications, with the LA Press Club 2000 President's Award.
Beatty approached the podium to the tune of Hail to the Chief and told the audience
you were talking about my becoming President...I was only thinking about it! Patt
Morrison, respected for her extraordinary career at the Los Angeles Times
and KCET's Life & Times Tonight, received The Joseph M. Quinn Memorial
Award, the highest distinction for achievement in the field of journalism.
Comedian Paula Poundstone presented Morrison with the award.
CONCOURS ON RODEO 2000 -- featured automobiles representing 100 years of car
history. Talk show host Jay Leno and a bevy of celebrities joined in the
Chrysler sponsored event, with great food selections from REATA Restaurant
on Rodeo available for hungry car enthusiasts. The Texas based restaurant chain
that owns REATA offers a menu filled with outstanding Tex-Mex favorites. The CONCOURS
on Rodeo was preceded by the ÔStars & Cars Gala' at the Petermen Automotive
Museum earlier in the week, where charity dollars were raised to support education
programs at the Museum.
RINGO AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES -- It was standing room only as Ringo Starr and
The All Star Band took center stage at the House of Blues. It was
a flash from the past for just about everyone there. People in their fifties swaying
and singing to we all live in a yellow submarine, with smiles going from ear to
ear and Ring leading the chant. What a magical night. Thanks so much Ringo and
House of Blues...I needed that!
FISH WITH FLAIR AT LOUISE'S TRATTORIA -- Fred LeFranc,
President & CEO of Louise's Trattoria and Michael L. Roan, Director of Food
& Beverage for the popular restaurant chain, hosted a preview tasting
for area restaurant media to highlight the delightful new fish specialties being
prepared by a variety of talented chefs in the Louise's kitchens. You will be delightfully
surprised by the wonderfully creative new presentations on the menu, and the desserts
are delicious as well.
DELMONICO'S SEAFOOD GRILL -- The popular Beverly Hills and Encino Restaurant
was recently honored with a Chefs 2000 Gold Medal award at the Los Angeles
Chefs Grand Tasting. The event for food industry professionals was held at the Beverly
Hills Hotel. 13
