Quality, Sustainability, and Social Responsibility

The SCAA held its Annual Specialty Coffee Conference on April 14 . 18, 2000 at the Moscone center in San Francisco. Over 8,000 people attended the 4 day conference, ranging from coffee roasters to retailers.

Over 58 countries were represented, with Brazil, Guatamala, Costa Rica, Ethiopia and Mexico providing dazzling booth exhibits.

Cuppings were going on in three different areas of the show, as the coffee industry rallied to taste and evaluate coffee by their appelations, similar to a wine tasting.

Coffee's important place in the industry was evidenced by the crossover of foodservice vendors offering services to today's coffee retailers.
